Ajoite
I first came across this beautiful crystal about 4 years ago and since I have found it so hard to source. Ajoite takes its name from where it was first found which was a place called the Ajo Mountains in Arizona however today there are deposits found in South Africa.
Ajoite is a hydrated sodium potassium copper that contains calcium, iron pyrite and manganese. It is often found alongside Chryscolla, Malachite and Shattucktite. It displays different shades of greens and blues across its host crystal of quartz and in fact it has often been referred to a ‘Ajo Quartz’.
Although first discovered in 1941 it was only confirmed as its own species of crystal in 1958 by geologists Schaller and Vlisidis who named it ‘Ajoite’.
Ajoite can be described as having a soft, nurturing and loving energy which is matched by its ethereal beauty. It is truly a crystal of divine feminine energy and healers prize this for its amazing benefits and supportive energies for Women.
Very little is known historically regarding Ajoite however, personally, I would expect this to have been a significant crystal used by the Native American cultures although likely thought of a chrysocolla or malachite. From the moment you hold Ajoite you can feel its strong connection to the Earth and Mother Gaia. When I first connected with this crystal I found that my own healing abilities as a Reiki Master appeared amplified, as though Mother Gaia herself was infusing my own Aura and Chakra’s with deep healing abilities. I have meditated several times with Ajoite and also used it with several clients during Reiki. Often during meditation I receive images of a mountainous region which I am transported below enabling me to feel connected to the very fabric of the Earth. It is interesting that clients have also described identical experiences during Reiki sessions.
Ajoite has been given the name ‘The women’s stone’ due to its divine feminine energy and ability to assist and support in many difficulties faced by females. It is also known as an excellent support for boosting fertility.

How to use your Ajoite
Ajoite is best used during meditation. Simply hold your Ajoite, cupped in your left hand whist meditating and focus on the vibrations you feel. Allow these to travel through your body guiding the energy to your Heart Chakra. Ajoite can also be placed directly onto the Root Chakra area or tummy to assist with any issues of the female reproductive system.
